Bangladesh in the UAE 2026: Afghanistan Test and ODI tri-series

Every Afghanistan v Bangladesh 2026-27 match with times in Bangladesh time, scores, the table and squads.

Bangladesh spend October in the United Arab Emirates. First comes a one-off Test against Afghanistan at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi from 9 to 13 October, then an ODI tri-series with Afghanistan and Zimbabwe from 17 to 23 October. Afghanistan are the hosts: the UAE is where they usually play their home internationals.

The Test is a first. Bangladesh have never played a Test match in the UAE before. Najmul Hossain Shanto leads a 15-man squad with Mushfiqur Rahim, Mominul Haque, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz in it, Taijul Islam as the main spinner, and Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed for pace. The team landed in Dubai on 1 October and drew a two-day warm-up against the UAE on 4 and 5 October.

The fixtures, scores and squads below come from our live cricket feed and update during play. Every time on this page is Bangladesh time.

Fixtures & results

How the tri-series works

Three teams play one round, then the top two meet in a final. Bangladesh open against Zimbabwe on Saturday 17 October. Afghanistan play Zimbabwe on Monday 19 October, and Bangladesh face Afghanistan on Wednesday 21 October. The final is on Friday 23 October.

The games are split between Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. With only two group games each, there is little room for a slip: lose the opener to Zimbabwe and the Afghanistan game becomes a straight decider. The ODI squad had not been named when we checked on 6 October; it will show in the squads list on this page once it is announced.

Afghanistan v Bangladesh: the recent record

The last Test between these sides was at Mirpur in June 2023, and Bangladesh won it by 546 runs, their biggest Test win by runs. In one-day cricket in the UAE the record runs the other way. Afghanistan won the ODI series there 2-1 in November 2024 and 3-0 in October 2025, so 21 October is the game Bangladesh will be judged on.

Rahmat Shah captains Afghanistan in both the Test and the ODIs. For the score of any game, open it from the list above or go to the cricket live score page.

What comes next

After the final the team flies home to host West Indies for two Tests from 28 October, then travels to South Africa in mid-November. Every series and date is on our Bangladesh cricket schedule.
