The 2027 Asia Cup comes to Bangladesh. This edition is a 50-over tournament, played in the year of the ODI World Cup, and the proposed dates are Friday 18 June to Sunday 4 July 2027. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) gave Bangladesh the hosting rights in July 2024, when it shared out its events for 2024-27.

Six teams take part: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and one team that comes through Asian qualifying. They are split into two groups of three. The top two from each group go into the Super Four, and the top two from the Super Four play the final, thirteen matches in all.

Venues and schedule

The BCB has put forward three grounds: the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, a venue in Chattogram and the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The ACC still has to inspect them, and the match schedule and the groups had not been published when we checked on 6 October 2026.

The fixtures go on this page, in Bangladesh time, once the ACC releases them. Live scores will then run on our cricket live score page.

Bangladesh at the Asia Cup

Bangladesh have reached three Asia Cup finals, in 2012, 2016 and 2018, and lost all three, so a first title at home is the obvious target. India are the holders. They won the last 50-over edition in 2023, beating Sri Lanka by ten wickets in the final, and the T20 edition in 2025, beating Pakistan by five wickets.

Bangladesh's build-up includes a one-off Test at Lord's from 28 May to 1 June 2027, so the squad will come into the tournament straight from England. The rest of the year is on our Bangladesh cricket schedule.

Bangladesh as host

This will be the sixth Asia Cup held in Bangladesh, after 1988, 2000, 2012, 2014 and the T20 edition of 2016. The 2012 final at Mirpur is the one fans here still talk about: Pakistan beat Bangladesh by two runs. Mirpur hosted the 2016 final as well, which India won.

Home advantage has been real for Bangladesh in Tests this year: they beat Pakistan by 104 runs at Mirpur and by 78 runs at Sylhet in May, two of the three grounds put forward for this tournament.
